Gilbert & Son was originally established in 1973 as a general building contractors born between a partnership of father and son 1st and 2nd generation Gilberts’. This progressed into G & S GILBERT & SON LTD in the 90’s following the appointment to Directorship of a third generation Gilbert. The company is still run between the 2nd and 3rd generation of Gilberts’ and is keen to see the 4th generation carry on in to the family business.
Our main work is in the form of office refurbishment and planned maintenance covering a wide variety of forms and has extended to providing specialized works within selective hospitals, government organisations, incorporating government owned building solutions for a FTSE top 100 company. We have built and developed our reputation on clear running communication lines. Organisation and procedures and fair understanding of allowing necessary allocation of resources at all levels of construction, allowing us to "Work Smarter Not Harder".

G&S Gilbert and Son Ltd have partaken in commercial and tender works on the DWP Estate for nearly 20 years now, over this period we have generated a solid working relationship with all our clients. We have extensive experience in both major and minor projects with our specialised trade being refurbishment of job centres and office spaces. We have the workforce and resources to cope with projects on both large and small scales, whether the requirement is a small redecoration or a complete re-build from the ground up, G&S Gilbert and Son Ltd will be able to offer a very appealing competitively priced bid.
With all works G&S will prepare and comply with full H&S and have worked under many CDM compliant sites with all operatives suitably provided with all relevant means of PPE. We will supply H&S method statements and risk assessments to cover all works proposed and if required a Construction phase Health and Safety Plan will be completed and kept on site for reference.
